The phenomenal cellist Dana Leong returns back to his home in NYC after a California fall tour this month. Playing mostly electric cello Dana has strong roots most noticeably in hip hop music of all genres. He studied at the Manhattan School of Music on a double scholarship with both classical cello and jazz trombone. Milk and Jade his band was selected in 2008 for the Rhythm Road musical ambassador program through Jazz at Lincoln Center which helped cement his approach to music in the jazz world. Dana will be having 2 events this month starting on November 7th at the Yamaha Artist Headquarters where he will be presenting a lecture/demenostration on using technology in live performance and the next on November 18th at MOCA where he is the new composer in residence. At the Museum of Chinese in America (MOCA) Dana will give an autobiographical lecture and performance with topics ranging from how he works and lives as an independent artist as well as producing music and the balance of business to art.
