Wallace Roney: Legend of jazz, trumpet master, bandleader extraordinaire. And now, host of a three-week series presented by Revive Da Live. We are excited to announce Wallace Roney’s residency at Dominion NY this for our Autumn Suite fall series. The residency will feature Roney’s band every Wednesday night with an opening act of emerging artists, as well as an exciting—and top-secret—roster of legendary guests in a historic exchange of live music.

For Roney, the residency presents the chance to create a unique live-music experience, one not typically possible in the one-night gig format. This format, however, three consecutive weeks, encourages audiences to come back every Wednesday for a wholly different experience each time. Innovative music and eager audiences: it’s the perfect marriage.

It’s no secret that Roney possesses a wealth of groundbreaking experience in music. He first came into the international spotlight when he succeeded Terence Blanchard as a member of Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers. Later, his gigs included stints with Miles Davis, Tony Williams, and members of Davis’ Second Great Quintet (Carter, Shorter, Williams, and Hancock). His work as a soloist has included recordings with Carole King, Dizzy Gillespie, Joni Mitchell, Sonny Rollins, and more. He is even rumored to have been part of the inspiration for the character Marsellus Wallace in the film Pulp Fiction. As a leader, Wallace has recorded more than 16 albums. His residency is certain to be remembered as a historic moment in the world of cutting-edge live music.
