Need some amazing music to smooth over the stress and trauma of the past week? You’re in luck! This week the Blue Note Jazz Club is hosting three nights (each with two sets) of a supergroup led by the incredible Chick Corea and Stanley Clarke featuring Ravi Coltrane on sax, Marcus Gilmore on drums, and Chalres Altura on guitar.

Chick Corea and Stanley Clarke have worked together extensively in the past, most notably under the Return to Forever banner. Joining them for their NYC run are a group of musicians that have a whole lot of jazz history behind them. Ravi Coltrane recently released his Blue Note Records debut with Spirit Fiction and has been receiving rave reviews for the album. Marcus Gilmore, grandson to the legendary Roy Haynes, is one of the busiest drummers on the scene  performing with the likes of Clark Terry, Nicholas Payton, Wynton Marsalis, Terence Blanchard, Vijay Iyer, and Roy Hargrove, among countless others. Charles Altura is an alum of the Stanley Clarke band most recently performing on his 2010 How Is The Weather Up There? He continues to gig around the country extensively.
