This past weekend was a whirlwind of amazing music and as we sift through more and more of the recordings and videos, we’ll be bringing you an exclusive look at these incredible musicians, the dynamic arrangements, and the one of a kind musical moments that have to be heard!

Starting off night one was Marcus Strickland’s supergroup entitled Twi-Life. The group brought out the more experimental side of Strick’s compositions and arrangements. On this song, Jean Baylor joined the group and brought an unmatched energy on vocals.  Get a taste of their set:

Later in the night Brandee Younger took to the stage with her tribute to Dorothy Ashby’s Afro-Harping and the result was extraordinary. With Kim Thompson and Ameen Saleem holding down the groove, Younger, Sharel Cassity, and Casey Benjamin were able to glide through infectious melodies that drew the audience in. DJ Raydar Ellis even jumped in to give his spin on one of the tracks. Take a listen:
