For their Jazz at Lincoln Center debut, the renowned Bad Plus trio will be performing for two nights on 4/12 & 4/13 accompanied by one of the leading contemporary jazz guitarists, Bill Frisell. The best part: we’ve got an opportunity for you to win tickets to the show!
The Bad Plus — composed of pianist Ethan Iverson, drummer Dave King, and bassist Reid Anderson — have been intriguing audiences with their piano trio aesthetics and avant-garde feel for nearly 13 years. With ten albums to date, the group has explored a range of acoustic and electric stylings as well as a compositional range of cover songs and originals, yet but the core group has continued to remain one of the most reliably solid acts around. This will not be the first time they perform with Bill Frisell, a guitarist who ultimately seems to be interested in playing with as many great musicians as he can. As we’ve seen in prior concerts, the collaboration is something which may even trump each of their individual talents.
