On Tuesday June 25th, London based artist Tawiah will take the stage at Subculture, New York’s newest live music venue presented by Revive Music with Special Guest, Grammy Nominated singer Muhsinah and a special opening performance by Carolyn Malachi.

Tawiah was the lead vocalist on Mark Ronson’s worldwide tour lending her voice to songs made famous by Amy Winehouse and Mary J Blige to name a few. She appeared on a remix for Cee Lo Green’s “I Want You”. Her independently released EP “In Jodi’s Bedroom” won Gilles Peterson’s Radio1 Best Newcomer Award and its first single “Watch Out” was voted 2nd Best Song of the Year by the station. Her second single “Every Step” went on to make Itunes Single of the Week and remains a fan favorite at live performances. She has collaborated with a spectrum of artist from Mark De Clive Lowe, Eric Lau and Wale.

Carolyn Malachi’s unique approach to music combines Jazz, Hip-Hop, Spoken Word, and lots of imagination. Named an “artist to obsess over” by MTV, the Grammy nominated artist and great-granddaughter of legendary pianist John Malachi, has been honored with comparisons to Ella Fitzgerald, Lauryn Hill, and Rachelle Ferrell. Her 2010 release, the “Lions, Fires & Squares” EP, earned a 2011 Best Urban / Alternative Performance GRAMMY Award nomination for the single, “Orion.”
