Get a sneak peek at Jesse Fischer and Sly5thAve’s rehearsal for VEIN MELTER, their upcoming Herbie Hancock tribute show this Monday, Dec 2, at ShapeShifter Lab in Brooklyn. This is shaping up to be an epic night full of music from both Head Hunters and Mwandishi bands, featuring legendary trumpeter Dr. Eddie Henderson as well as other surprise guests! For this show only, Fischer and Sly5thAve have put together a team of Brooklyn’s best young interpreters of 70’s jazz-funk fusion, including reedsman Irwin Hall (from Melody Gardot’s band), trumpeter Jay Jennings (from Snarky Puppy), David Cutler on bass, Keita Ogawa on percussion, and Jerome Jennings (taking a night off from the off-Broadway play Lady Day) on drums.

Check the video for snippets of Herbie’s tunes “Sly” and “You Know When You’ll Get There” and RSVP here. And if you haven’t checked their Watermelon Man 2013 remix, it’s available for a free download.
