Also lending a hand with Lighthouse is producer Brian Bender, whose credits include Takuya Kuroda’s Rising Son as well as José James’ No Beginning No End and While You Were Sleeping. Van Gelder had this to say about Lighthouse’s producer:

Brian was a very important element in the whole process. He brings much more to the table than just recording and mixing a record. He’s very open minded, listens to just about any music you can think of, and has the same open approach when it comes to the project at hand. We agreed instantly on the sound/vibe the record should have and he just had all this great input along the way. Another thing I like about his sound is the low end and I think we ended up having plenty of it too. I’ve been playing and listening to more and more electronic music lately. I guess it started to influence how I like things to sound.”

Lighthouse recently made it’s debut in Japan on August 6th but is scheduled to be released for other territories on September 6th. Scroll down to listen to the premiere of “Victory Joy Dance,” the opening track of Gideon Van Gelder’s forthcoming LP, Lighthouse.
