The release of Otis Brown III‘s The Thought Of You on September 23, 2014 was a momentous occasion for several reasons. For one, it marked the coming of Brown’s long-awaited debut as a leader, which features beautiful compositions and arrangements brought together by a very special band. The core quintet, featuring Robert Glasper, trumpeter Keyon Harrold, saxophonist John Ellis, and bassist Ben Williams, has a lot of history, and together they make the kind of music that only happens when there’s a high level of trust and appreciation among band mates, combined with their astounding musicianship. Of course, we can’t forget co-producer Derrick Hodge, whose influence had a big impact on the sound of the record.

The release of The Thought Of You was very special to us here at Revive for another reason as well. It marked the first release under our partnership with Blue Note Records, Revive/Blue Note. It was the record that started it all and we couldn’t think of a better record to begin the journey with. In celebration of the one year anniversary of The Thought Of You, we are offering a few lucky fans the chance to win a signed vinyl copy of the album — yes, we’re giving away The Thought Of You on wax. Here are two ways to win!
