This coming Friday, Dec. 18th, guitarist David Gilmore will release his 4th album, Energies of Change, at one of NYC’s newest jazz clubs, Club Bonafide. Gilmore has spent the last 20 years recording and performing with many of today’s most influential modern artists, such as Wayne Shorter, Steve Coleman, Cassandra Wilson, Don Byron, Carolyn Leonhart, Christian McBride, among many others. He is a pillar of the jazz community, both as a soloist and as an accompanying musician. “‘Awakening’ is a reference to that intuitive feeling and sense of knowing that eventually all human beings come to at some point, when their sense of reality is turned upside-down, and a paradigm shift begins to occur, and there is no turning back to the old way of thinking and perceiving,” he says. “It is an opening of consciousness – an awakening out of what we already think is the ‘awakened state’, and into a higher state of being.” Join Gilmore on his journey to a higher state of being with his new track “Awakening” off his forthcoming album. The track features Gilmore on guitar, Antonio Sanchez on drums, Marcus Strickland on sax, Luis Perdomo on piano, and Ben Williams on bass.
