The good folks at Boiler Room have been gracious enough to document some of our proudest moments. From the recent Blue After Dark concert, Supreme Sonacy Vol. 1‘s Album Release Concert, to super-producer Terrace Martin’s appearance at MoMA PS1. Our longstanding relationship with Boiler Room has produced some of the hottest musical events on this side of the alternate universe. We’re proud to announce that we’ve partnered up once again with Boiler Room for a new series simply titled Breakfast with REVIVE. The inaugural episode features our founder Meghan Stabile alongside Nicholas Payton, Igmar Thomas, Bilal, as well as Raydar Ellis. In the hour-long episode, the panel discusses the Revive Big Band’s upcoming A Journey Through the Legacy of Black Culture concert at SummerStage this Sunday, August 7th and the ideas and concepts behind it.
“The general inspiration behind the show is just life,” Revive Big Band leader Igmar Thomas explains. “One of the main things that I wanted to do was to put it into perspective that it came from one place or one culture perhaps. Through that, I hope to spread many things, but mostly [an] understanding and awareness. Not just of this music and this culture, but of the people that represent it and it’s forefathers — the history of it.”
