Last week we presented Tawiah’s debut in New York City as her own act and luckily for the audience, she brought along a dynamic band consisting of her main collaborator Jodi Milliner and NYC’s own Justin Tyson on drums. The UK songstress also called in two of her incredibly talented friends Muhsinah and Carolyn Malachi to join her on the bill. Returning from touring with Esperanza Spalding on the Radio Music Society tour, trumpet extraordinaire (and Revive Big Band leader) Igmar Thomas has been playing a few spot gigs around NYC. Tonight will feature him with keyboardist Yuki Hirano, drummer Justin Tyson, and guest emcee Raydar Ellis. These gigs are always fire and tonight it’s free!

Composed of Justin Tyson, Nozomi Yamaguchi, David Ginyard, M. Jelani Brooks, Patriq Moody and Victor Gould, the members of Product share a high pedigree of education from Berklee College of Music. Finding a common interest in R&B, hip-hop, jazz, funk and rock, the group came together in a effort to fully represent this new breed of hybrid musicians.

For the launch of our new series, The Revivalist Sessions, we brought a talented group of musicians into the studio to record what they’re currently working on. The first installment features James Casey, DJ Ginyard, Corey Bernhard, Justin Tyson, and Nozomi Yamaguchi working out some tunes for their project that will be out at the end of the year.
