Last week Derrick Hodge took the stage at the Cutting Room in NYC to bring his newly released Blue Note debut, Live Today, to life for an excited audience. Joined onstage by a core band of Christian Sands and Travis Sayles on keys, fellow Experiment member Mark Colenburg on drums, and Ambrose Akinmusire on trumpet, Hodge went through a repertoire of songs featured on the album with the addition of one tribute to the late-Mulgrew Miller (featuring Sayles and Akinmusire channeling some extra intense energy) which was not on the album.

On Tuesday, August 6th world-renowned bassist and composer Derrick Hodge will be celebrating his debut album on Blue Note Records ‘Live Today’ featuring Travis Sayles (keys) , Christian Sands (keys), Mark Colenburg (drums) and Ambrose Akinmusire (trumpet) at The Cutting Room presented by Revive Music.
