Leading up to the February 26th release of ‘Cover Art,’ we will be bringing you interviews with the musicians and previews of the songs each one arranged for the record, so check back with us often! Today we’ve got an interview with saxophonist Logan Richardson who arranged “Come Smoke My Herb” by Meshell Ndegeocello and “Twice” by Little Dragon for ‘Cover Art.”

It’s that time of year again for the UCLA Jazz Reggae Festival. This year marks a historic 25 years of the festival with past performers including the Roots, Erykah Badu, Raphael Saadiq, Q-Tip, Bilal, Quadron, Nicholas Payton, Roy Hargrove, Roy Ayers, Barrington Levy, and many, many more. It is one of the largest student-run festivals in the US with upwards of 30,000 people attending each of the two days in past years.

The Bowery Ballroom show on Monday night was a mix-match of songs off of both studio albums, as well as the anticipated new album that will be released in the spring. Audiences were plenty stimulated with layers upon layers of sound. More reason than ever to set off the Little Dragon movement and assert them as the staple pop group that has set a new bar for innovation and pioneering sounds. This year already forecasts as the biggest one yet for the band. Little Dragon will no doubt garner huge mass media attention and build even further off of their cult following in the indie scene, which has supported and watered their soil for growth since day one.
