Here is a 20-ish minute mix of some of todays DOPEST Jazz. I made this in preparation for Winter Jazz Fest 2013 where Revive Music will be hosting a 2 night stay. Rich Medina & I will be holding down the decks all night long, so come through and party with us!!

2013′s Winter Jazz Festival will be kicking off on 1/11/13. This year Revive Music Group will be presenting two action-packed nights of music at Sullivan Hall filled to the brim with a roster of amazing musicians. We’re bringing you previews of these incredible artists to give you a taste of what is to come in January. We met up with Ari Hoenig to discuss what he’s got in store for Winter Jazz Festival. We’re about to welcome in 2013 and subsequently there is a lot to be excited about. Concerts, albums, artists, artwork, and more are coming in the new year. Check out just a few of the things you should be excited about in 2013!

We are proud to once again partner with the 2013 Winter Jazzfest in producing our annual Revive Music Stage taking place on Friday, Jan. 11th and Saturday, Jan. 12th with the first performance starting at 7:45pm and going all night until 4am on both nights. Performances will include the premier of ‘AFRO HARPING’, a tribute to Dorothy Ashby led by harpist Brandee Younger, our monthly remix live jazz party, CHURCH with Mark de Clive-Lowe, Otis Brown III Quintet, Marcus Strickland’s Twi-Life, Somi and many many more.

After being confronted by a group of musicians looking to improve the conditions of Winter Jazz Festival this year in terms of sets, pay, and sponsorship, it has been announced that the organizers and musicians have reached an agreement. Specific details of the contracts have not been released, but ticket prices will be going up $10 from last year to help compensate. Other changes include longer sets and longer breaks.
