Okayplayer recently premiered Freelance‘s new video for “Your Love,” a single off their debut album Yes Today. Directed by Wayland Bell, the video is the first visual release of the album. “It’s the story of a romantic pursuit for love,” the group told Okayplayer. “It furthers the message of the album title ‘Yes Today’ by urging people that the time for love is now. Sonically, lyrically and visually it is a celebration of black people everywhere and is intended to serve as a bridge to connect us all.”
The video’s kaleidoscope of color perfectly compliments the song’s lush sonic layers, courtesy of Smithsoneon (vocals), Ausar The Ambassador (keyboards & production), Darren Barrett (trumpet), Lomar Brown (saxophone), Mitch Henry (organ), Brandon Mayes (percussion), Brandee Younger (harp) and the Solar String Quartet.
