This one is a personal favorite of ours here at Revive for no other reason than we’ve been waiting for this record since Chris Dave dropped “Cosmic Slop” back in 2013. But after a career having backed some of the most important names in music from Kenny Garrett and D’Angelo to his tenure in bands like The Robert Glasper Experiment and Mint Condition, it’s nice to see one of the greatest drummers of our time finally getting some shine on his own accord. With neck-snapping bangers like “Destiny N Stereo” rubbing shoulders alongside more the more spaced-out fourth-dimension vibes of “Cosmic Intercourse” featuring Dave’s old Mint Condition bandmate Stokley and slow burners like “Spread Her Wings” featuring Bilal and Tweet, we can’t be any more prouder of Chris “Daddy” Dave.
